GENERAL
- As soon as you receive the envelope with your credit card, check if the envelope
is tampered; if so inform the bank immediately.
- Sign on the white strip which is on the reverse of the card. Use a ball point pen or
a permanent marker preferably
- Sign the acknowledgment & send it back to the bank.
- Check if your name is spelt correctly on the card.
- Confirm if the address, credit line & cash line is correct.
FEES
- Always read the terms & conditions.
- Look for any offers which have come with the card.
- Confirm the fees & charges schedule.
- Check if the fee which has been agreed upon while applying for the card is the
same.
- Banks also issue additional cards which could be free, no fees levied.
PIN
- Make sure you change your Personal Identification Number (PIN) when you
receive it from the bank. If the envelope is torn inform the bank accordingly.
- Avoid using your birth date as your PIN
- Never share your PIN with anyone.
- Do not give your CVV number (a 3 digit number which is on the reverse of your
card) to anyone.
- Avoid giving your card no. unless required. Never give a copy of your card no &
CVV number together. Hide the CVV no. & then remove a photocopy if required
